Disney chief says ‘big problems’ have been solved and a new era of construction is about to begin

Disney boss Bob Iger has told investors that the company has solved its major problems and is now entering a new “era of building”.

Iger said the company is making progress in narrowing losses in its streaming business and is on track to cut $7.5 billion in expenses.

Disney shares, which have fallen by more than half since their 2021 peak, remain a target for activist investors eager to improve.

However, Iger says the company’s recent results will give him some breathing room to enter what he calls a “building” phase.
